With the core competence of cashmere products, FTC® guarantees high quality and a diverse range. In addition to the products made of 100% cashmere, the family business has developed various material compositions for you. Discover the large assortment of the different product qualities.
Cashmere - this term is associated with first-class, soft and expensive products. The valuable wool is obtained from the cashmere goat. FTC® has specialised in this high-quality material since 2003 and stands for fairly and sustainably produced products. In the Shaanxi region of China, FTC® owns several farms with its own cashmere goats and in the Hebei region, the company operates its own manufactory where the products are made.
Cashmere production takes place only once a year during the change of coat in the transition from winter to summer. The goats are not shorn or shaved, but merely combed out. During this process, an initial selection takes place: The fine undercoat is separated from the coarser topcoat, the so-called awn hair. After combing several times, the fine underhair represents the valuable cashmere raw material. Products made of 100% cashmere have a warming effect and are very pleasant and soft to wear on the skin.
Ever since the company was founded more than 17 years ago, the topic of sustainability has played a decisive role at FTC®. With the upcycling line launched in 2019, the brand is taking another step in this area.
Even when the quantities of yarn required are calculated precisely, small amounts of yarn remain on the bobbins after production. Since cashmere is a very precious and limited material, the goal is to also use these leftover quantities of yarn sensibly and thus avoid waste.
FTC® has developed a technique to seamlessly join the threads of the leftover yarns. This process makes it possible to maintain the high quality of the material. Only threads made from 100% cashmere are used in this process. As the remnant yarns have different colours and the length of the threads also varies, the result is a multi-coloured thread with colour sequences of different lengths. Due to the different colours of the yarns, unique styles are created during production and each product is unique.
With its soft feel and comfort-tempering properties, cashmere is a true feel-good product. A few years ago, however, FTC® set itself an ambitious goal: to develop a cashmere product that not only fulfils the feel-good factor, but also has a caring effect on the skin. After one and a half years of research work by FTC®, a new, unique material combination has been created: SeaCell™ Cashmere.
In addition to the high-quality cashmere raw material, a specially processed brown alga is used. It is first dried and crushed and then ground into a fine powder in a patented process in Europe. The fine algae powder is then mixed with a cellulose mass and processed into a SeaCell™ fibre.
The combination of animal wool and plant-based SeaCell™ combines the luxurious comfort of cashmere with the soothing effect of brown algae on the skin. The special material has a nurturing effect on the skin: due to the natural skin moisture, the vital substances from the algae are released when wearing the SeaCell™ cashmere garments and can thus permanently unfold their beneficial effect.
The brown algae (Ascophyllum nodosum) in the SeaCell™ fibre come exclusively from the cold, clean fjords of Iceland. They are rich in minerals (e.g. magnesium, calcium, potassium and phosphorus), trace elements (especially iron and iodine), vitamins and amino acids, which they obtain from the geothermal water. One kilo of dried algae contains the healing active ingredients from over 100,000 litres of seawater.
As with all its activities, FTC® also pays attention to sustainability with SeaCell™ Cashmere: the algae are harvested in a gentle and sustainable way. For example, only a certain part of the algae is cut off every four years. The algae are deliberately harvested only above the so-called regenerative region to ensure regrowth. The algae are untreated and their valuable ingredients are preserved in the SeaCell™ fibre.
Rare & Precious
Gentle & Light
Baby cashmere is an extremely rare and precious material obtained exclusively from the underfur of young cashmere goats aged between five and eight months. For this reason, the availability of this special material is extremely limited.
The extraordinarily fine hairs are obtained using a gentle combing process that is completely harmless to the goats. The softness and lightness of Baby Cashmere are incomparable.
Organic Cotton Cashmere
also for warm
The cashmere specialist is adding a cashmere-organic-cotton line to its range. Soft, sustainably sourced and processed cashmere from the company's own cashmere goat farm is combined here with organic cotton that is GOTS certified. The organic cotton not only stands out for its sustainable extraction, but also for its excellent high staple quality. Here, the ratio is 30% cashmere and 70% organic cotton.
«With the Cashmere Organic Cotton line, we want to offer our customers attractive knitwear, especially for the warmer summer months, that is also attractively priced. In developing them, it was important for us not to leave our core competence, cashmere, and still achieve a cooler, summery feel in the styles», says Jana Knezovic, Head of Product Management at FTC®.
By nature, cashmere goats have a white or dark brown coat. For the FTC® products made from Natural Yarn, the cashmere raw material was neither dyed nor bleached, so that the natural original colour of the cashmere is completely preserved. The style is therefore made from 100% natural cashmere. Pure nature.
